Czech IT company eMan starts its own investment fund, focusing on fintech and digitalization [PRESS RELEASE]

The Prague software house is establishing an investment fund, called eMan Innovations. It will focus on Czech and international projects with global ambitions.

(Internal information)
The new investment fund will invest up to tens of millions of CZK in projects in the areas of fintech, digitalization of services, manufacturing, and transport. The intention is to invest in about two to three interesting startups each year. The fund will be established in cooperation with Starteepo.

“We chose Starteepo as our partner for this new project based on previous great experience with them, when they helped us last year with our successful listing on the START market of the Prague Stock Exchange,”  explains Jiří Horyna, CEO of eMan.

New opportunities, a larger portfolio, and financial control

In essence, the new investment fund will resemble a technology incubator. The software house plans to invest primarily in products and services related to the areas in which eMan operates, or to support internal projects in order to attract new and active members to the eMan family.

“By establishing the fund through investments in technology companies, we can successfully expand our company’s portfolio with new interesting products and services. In addition, we create a source of additional value for our shareholders and, last but not least, it significantly distinguishes us from the competition,”  adds Horyna.

Cooperation with Czech universities

Within the supported projects, the fund will be open to both majority and minority financial participation. At the end of the cooperation, both the possibilities of ‘exit’ or eventual integration into the eMan portfolio will be offered.

“The fund could also open the door to possible cooperation with Czech universities, which we perceive as a big plus. We will reveal more information, including the initial invested projects, at the stock exchange’s spring Start Day,”  Jiří Horyna concluded.

This successful year for the Prague software house is underlined by the fact that eMan expects total revenues of CZK 210 million, as was predicted at the beginning of the year.
